Real-world evidence

STUDY OVERVIEW2

  • Study design: Retrospective, observational real-world evidence (RWE) study
  • Data sources: Medicare Insurance Claims and Abbott Device Registry
  • Study population: 2,341 LBBAP vs 68,241 right ventricular pacing (RVP) patients that received de novo dual chamber pacemakers
  • Leads studied: Abbott Tendril™ STS and UltiPace™
  • Follow-up: 2 years

RESULTS2
SAFETY OUTCOMES2

  • No difference in rates of 30-day acute complications
  • No difference in chronic complications
  • No difference in re-intervention rates at two-year follow-up
    • LBBAP had significantly lower rate of upgrades to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) vs RVP

LBBAP BY STYLET-DRIVEN LEADS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED RISKS OF:

  • Heart failure hospitalization (HFH): 28%
  • New onset of HFH: 46%
  • All-cause mortality: 36%

WITH SIMILAR RATES OF:

  • 30-day complications HR 1.01, [0.82-1.24]
  • Chronic complications HR 0.92, [0.73-1.17]
  • Device reinterventions HR 0.76, [0.58-1.02]

vs RVP at 24-month follow-up

High success rate with CPS Locator™ 3D catheters

Implantation of a stylet-driven lead for left bundle branch area pacing guided by new delivery catheters3
STUDY OVERVIEW:

  • Two-center study aiming to report the first clinical experience of LBBAP using a stylet-driven lead and new delivery catheters
  • Implant procedural data collected from 27 patients who received LBBAP implants using stylet-driven leads (Tendril™ STS) guided by CPS Locator™ 3D catheters
  • Lead implant location adjudicated based on fluoroscopy and paced QRS morphology

RESULTS2

  • LBBAP implant successful in 100% of patients, with a single attempt in 81% of the patients and 2 attempts for the remaining
  • Time from venous access to lead fixation: 17 ± 15 mins
  • No LBBAP implant related procedural complications

CONCLUSION:

  • LBBAP using the stylet-driven leads guided by CPS Locator™ 3D catheters was safe and effective with a high success rate
