IMPLANTABLE
CARDIOVERTER
DEFIBRILLATORS

Designed to continuously monitor patients’ heart rhythm
and detect irregular heartbeats, implantable cardioverter
defibrillators (ICDs) deliver electrical signals and controlled shocks
in order to restore a normal heart rhythm when necessary.

OUR COMMITMENT

At Abbott, we are concerned with improving your patients’ safety, comfort and quality of life and have implemented several ICD technologies to meet their needs. Our ICDs elevate the standard of patient care through new algorithms and technology intended to improve patient safety and therapy assurance.

DISCOVER THE ICD RANGE

GALLANT™ ICDs

The Gallant™ ICD offers built-in smartphone connectivity with our latest patient-focused enhancements you can intuitively program to meet your patients’ changing needs.

ENTRANT™ ICDs

The Entrant™ ICD integrates smartphone connectivity with long-lasting therapy in a small, contoured design that is 1.5 Tesla (T) and 3T Magnetic Resonance (MR) Conditional.*

*See Abbott MRI-Ready Systems Manual for device and lead combinations and associated MRI scan parameters.

GALLANT™ AND ENTRANT™ ICDs OFFER:

Precision Shock Technology

RIGHT ENERGY. RIGHT TIME. FOR GREATER FIRST-SHOCK SUCCESS1

Timing is everything when shocking a patient out of ventricular fibrillation (VF). Precision Shock Technology (PST) delivers the right energy within the right time for greater first-shock success.1–9 Any energy outside this response window is wasted.

Potential to save more lives with therapy assurance

VENTRICULAR FIBRILLATION (VF) THERAPY ASSURANCE DECREASES TIME TO TREATMENT FOR ARRHYTHMIAS IN PATIENTS WHO ARE LIKELY TO BE HEMODYNAMICALLY UNSTABLE

VF Therapy Assurance is the only technology to provide an additional safety net for difficult-to-detect ventricular arrhythmias. Without VF Therapy Assurance, ventricular tachyarrhythmias with low and varying signal amplitudes may not be successfully identified.10,11

of patients who received high-voltage (HV) therapy due to VF Therapy Assurance’s enhanced detection would have been otherwise untreated for potentially life-threatening arrhythmias.10

Protect patients with a physiologic waveform. No DFT test needed

OPTIMIZED PRECISION SHOCK TECHNOLOGY OFFERS NONINVASIVE PROGRAMMING OPTIONS TO OPTIMIZE RESCUE THERAPY TO EACH PATIENT’S UNIQUE PHYSIOLOGY AND CHANGING CONDITIONS

OPTIMIZED PRECISION SHOCK TECHNOLOGY is the industry’s most flexible option for the management of high defibrillation threshold (DFT). The algorithm supports a 10 Joules (J) shock safety margin for patients.12

*Fixed-tilt group of patients with competitive devices only achieved 83% success for maintaining a 10 J safety margin

Bluetooth® Low Energy Communication
  • Enables smartphone connectivity through data encryption
  • Compatible with the myMerlinPulse™ app
Implant today, 1.5 T and 3T MRI* ready tomorrow

ABBOTT’S EXCLUSIVE NO-WAIT 1.5T AND 3T MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI) OPTIONS ENSURE YOUR PATIENTS CAN GET THE SCANS THEY NEED, WHEN THEY NEED IT‡

Patients can access full-body 1.5 T and 3T MRI scans immediately after implant, allowing them to receive appropriate medical care as soon as it is needed.

ABBOTT MRI-READY SYSTEMS MANUAL

* For additional information about specific MR Conditional ICDs and leads, including scan parameters, warnings, precautions, adverse conditions to MRI scanning, and potential adverse events, please refer to the Abbott MRI-Ready Systems Manual.
‡ No minimum length of time requirement between implant and MRI scan. Stability of pacing capture thresholds is required prior to MRI scan.
