IMPLANTABLE
CARDIOVERTER
DEFIBRILLATORS

Designed to continuously monitor patients’ heart rhythm
and detect irregular heartbeats, implantable cardioverter
defibrillators (ICDs) deliver electrical signals and controlled shocks
in order to restore a normal heart rhythm when necessary.

INDICATIONS FOR USE1

Implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD) devices are indicated in adult patients who have already survived a cardiac arrest or are at a high risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) due to ventricular tachycardia (VT) or ventricular fibrillation (VF).*

ICDs are most commonly implanted within a device pocket in the pectoral region.

*ICD devices have not been tested in pediatric patients.
